It’s all ending. I gotta stop pretending who we are… You and me I can see us dying…are we?

I am not the biggest fan of Lula - the pink and flowery/girly aesthetic isn’t one that I’m particularly keen on- but , seeing Ali Michaels on the cover makes me really happy. This is a really gorgeous picture, and her face makes me think of the really young actresses in the 90s (Anna Paquin, Jena Malone, Christina Ricci, Thora Birch). I think her looks is one that isn’t seen very often in the industry, its really fresh and cool and young. Drama or no drama I really hope we keep seeing more and more of Ali.

So Johnny my love, we got us a witness. Now all we gotta do is get a preacher. He can probably skip the “until death” part, ’cause Johnny my love you’re already dead.

So I got the Elite show package today and I’m so torn. I think these are really great images for a show card- a close up on the front and a great full body shot on the back, with major emphasis on the legs, but I am really not feeling the Studio 54 graphic design.

Don’t you see the rest of the country looks upon New York like we’re left-wing, communist, Jewish, homosexual pornographers? I think of us that way sometimes and I live here.

For what Marilyn’s show package lacks in good photography, it makes up for in effort, strong runway models and general girly-ness. I really enjoy the feel of this package, its just that the photography/photo-shopping is really shoddy.

Show cards are an interesting thing for modeling agencies. It would seem that the purpose is to promote individual girls and book them into great shows, but with the politics of it all these days and the set of girls that will be booked for each show being decided before the casting ever happens a lot of the times, show packets have become more of a way to promote the overall aesthetic of the agency (and the quickest way to put together a walking order). This is most true with Supreme, they have built one of the strongest individual looks of all the agencies and it is illustrated vividly in their show cards. This season CEO Paul Rowland and photographers Chadwick Tyler and Hugh Lippes have gone with a hippie Brahmin look which is a very fitting style, in the evolution of their show cards from season to season. In the next week or so I am going to highlight the agencies that I think really do a great job packaging themselves through their show cards.

Take me to your hood- I’ve never been to Brooklyn and I’d like to see what’s good.

Except for Naomi (who I will forever have a love hate love relationship with), the only “supers” that I’m not completely sick of seeing are Eva Herzigova and Amber Valletta. Eva is on the new cover of 10 magazine shot by Cedric Buchet and she was also shot by Mert and Marcus for the new Louis Vuitton campaign. Amber has had a two strong season in a row- she is one of the cover girls for the upcoming Miuccia Prada issue of Pop and she was shot by Steven Meisel for the current Dsquared2 ad and Inez and Vinoodh for last seasons Stella McCartney ads. I say all this with a lot of caution, because these are the two supers that American Vogue seems to favor as well and they have been known to ruin a good thing through major overexposure.

Oh, I like your outfit too, except when I dress up as a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated.

The look book for H&M’s newest designer collection has been released, and I haven’t been this excited for one of these yet! Comme des Garcons designer Rei Kawakubo created a collection that is the perfect mix of creativity and wearability. As a guy, I am really excited that there is finally a collection at H&M that really pays attention to menswear, but isn’t so dressy- cheap dress clothes never look good. I think for once I am actually going to wait in like for the opening!

Another day, another amazing Juergen Teller editorial. The photographer shot model/muse Mariacarla Boscono for the new issue of the French magazine Paradis. Check out her thread on The Fashion Spot , but be warned it gets VERY Juergen (aka not for virgin eyes).

One of my favorite new designers to come out of the new London craze is Glasgow-born Christopher Kane. I think his looks are so fitting for his age, but do not lack in quality and design like a lot of other young designers. His first showing in Spring of 2007 could easily be the sole reason for the return of the ubiquitous Herve Lerge bandage dress and his Spring 2008 showing was a genius homage to his sister and their babysitter in the 80s. For both of his winter collections so far he has stuck with a chic goth theme (which in my opinion is the best winter look for a girl)- focusing on leather and velour in 2007 and sheer fabrics, wools and metallic paillettes in 2008.

More than epic- Juergen Teller photographed the amazing Tilda Swinton for the September issue of W. There are really no words needed for these images, absolute genius.

I HAD to!

Rachel McAdams looks really great on the upcoming cover on the New York Times “T” fashion magazine. I’m glad she is getting back into the spotlight, but she will always be Regina George to me.
